This article will guide you through the process of adding or updating your employee's YTD (Year-to-Date) values.

Adding Employee YTD values

When setting up a new employee, the final step involves entering their Year-to-Date (YTD) details. This step is optional. However, if you choose to complete it, please ensure that the employment section is fully completed first.

The YTD section of an employee’s profile consists of three subsections:

  1. Year to Date

  2. National Insurance

  3. Pension

Year to Date

This section includes the following fields. You can expand or collapse the section using the appropriate icons located on the right side.

  • Taxable Pay: Enter the YTD values for taxable pay from both current and previous employment.

  • Tax Paid: Enter the YTD values for tax paid from current and previous employment.

  • Student Loan: Enter the YTD value for the student loan from current employment.

  • Postgraduate Loan: Enter the YTD value for the postgraduate loan from current employment.

  • Benefits in Kind: Enter the YTD value for the benefits in kind from current employment.

National Insurance

This section includes the following fields. You can expand or collapse the section using the appropriate icons located on the right side.

- To collapse the section.

- To expand the section.

NI Category: You can select multiple NI categories; however, only one can be completed at a time. Fill in the following details for each selected category separately:

  • NIable Income

  • Employee NICs

  • Employer NICs

  • LEL (Lower Earnings Limit)

  • PT(EE's) (Primary Threshold)

  • UEL (Upper Earnings Limit)

Pension

This section includes the following fields. You can expand or collapse the section using the appropriate icons located on the right side.

- To collapse the section.

  • Pensionable Income

  • Employer's Pension Deductions

  • Employee's Pension Deductions

  • Pension AVC (Additional Voluntary Contributions)

Saving and Exiting the Setup

Once all needed details are entered, click "Save" to proceed. At any point, you can click "Exit Setup" to leave the setup process and complete it later. You can click the "Reset" button to clear the filled details from all fields at once.

Note: You can use the section indicator at the top to navigate to the relevant section.

Updating Employee YTD values

If you need to update your employee's pension details, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the dashboard by clicking on the logo. This will take you to the "Manage Clients" list.

  2. Find the client and click the "People" icon in the corresponding row. This will open a screen displaying a list of employees.

  3. Locate the employee you wish to edit, and click on the "Edit" icon on the corresponding row. It will open a page with a list of sections.

  4. In the "Year To Date" section, you will have two options based on the initial setup

    1. Add: If no YTD values were added during the initial setup, you will see the "+ Add" option. Follow the steps outlined in the Add YTD Values section to add the values.

    2. More: If the YTD values are already present, click "More" to update the details.

  5. A slider will appear displaying all the fields; please make the necessary changes. Please click "Save" to save the details.

  6. If no changes are required, simply click the "Close" icon at the top-right corner of the slider to exit.
