We have made a number of improvements for the creating custom populations of workers that you want to send out bulk Emails/SMS.

Previously, you can only create the custom population with minimum parameters for each type of fields (Text, Drop down, Date fields). For example,
1) By Text/Number field, if you give any name, it will retrieve the workers with that name (or) contains that name. 
2) By Drop down field, you can only retrieve workers with particular value in drop down.
3) By Date field, you can only retrieve workers based on particular date.
From now on, you can create the custom people list for sending emails to workers/agencies with enhanced parameters. For example, you can search for a list of workers with the status as Live/Awaiting Approval (or) you can search for the list of workers whose has not been paid in the last month (or) you can search for the workers with employee numbers starts with "1000" etc.
A) These are the improvements made for the field types:
1) For text/number fields, you can choose any of the below parameters to create the custom population.
2) For Dropdown fields, you can multi-select options.
3) For date fields, you can use the below options (greater/lesser than, range, last "x"
      days.
If you use the above filter for creating custom population, the system will retrieve the list of workers whose has not paid in the last 14 days from current date. If you want to dynamically pull the workers for sending out emails/SMS every week, you can use this option (Last "x" days/months) for date fields.
B) New fields added for creating custom population.
Employment, Payroll and Assignment Fields added for you to easily identify the list of workers with specific parameters.
Using these fields, you can generate the custom people list as you wish and target those workers to send out communications.
C) Enable/Disable Status for Custom People List:
You shouldn’t be able to delete a Custom People List once you've sent a mail to it as later on, you may want to investigate why an email has been sent to a certain list and you won’t be able to trace back to the list conditions if it’s been deleted. So we have restricted the delete option for custom people list to which emails has been already sent at least once. You can delete the custom people list if no emails has been sent to those list. Rather than deleting the custom people list (emails already sent), you can now "Deactivate" the status in custom people list screen, so that the list won't appear in the drop down while sending bulk Email/SMS.
D) More User Fields in Custom Email and SMS Templates:
Previously, there weren't many user fields while creating custom email/SMS templates. There were only the few fields such as Name, company and organisation can be included dynamically for each templates. This was not ideal because you may want to send the communication to different workers with employment/payroll fields such as Accrued holiday pay balance (or) last paid date (or) first paid date (or) NI number (or) employee number (or) tax code etc., and it should appear dynamically as per the worker record. 
Now we have included those user fields when you create any custom email/SMS templates to send the communication for workers/agencies.
Fields added in Custom Email Templates:
When creating the custom email template, you can use the below user fields/assignment fields/Payroll fields in your template, so that when you send email to different workers, it will send the dynamic value for that field as per the worker.
Fields added in Custom SMS Templates:
Similarly like email templates, you can use the below user fields/assignment fields/Payroll fields in your SMS template, so that when you send SMS to different workers, it will send the dynamic value for that field as per the worker.
