This article will break down the bank screen into several sections to give you a better understanding of what each part is showing you 😃.

Main Screen

This is the main screen on the banking page.

As you can see, there is quite a lot of information of this page! So we've split this article based on what your most likely to do or want to view.

View Transactions

The main part of the banking screen cont is to allow the user to view incoming and outgoing transactions. This is shown in the section shown below.

The user can see very quickly the 10 most recent transactions. The view can be changed to the first 25, 50, 100 transactions.

Filters

We understand that sometimes you need to look for one particular transaction rather than see your full transaction history. We have provided several useful filters on the banking screen to help to find that specific transaction you want to work on!

Transaction Type Filter

The user can filter by Incoming transactions, outgoing transactions or view all by selecting these buttons.

Date Filter

We have given you the the ability to filter by the date (Start and End Date). If you wants to filter the page to a specific month, it's as easy as selecting the date range filter.

When you land on the banking screen, the system will show the last one month's transaction by default. If you want a specific date range, you can use the date filter to filter those.

Transaction Status/Bank Rule Filter

On the banking screen, if you click the 'Status' filter and select the relevant status and click "Search", you can get the transactions based on selected status. NOTE: You can filter one status at a time.

See table below for help on what each status means.

If you want to filter on a bank rule then you can do so by clicking the 'Bank rule' and using the dropdown to select the required bank rule.

Searching by the bank rule will display transactions that have met the bank rule criteria and are ready to be matched.

Description - To search for a specific description, you can type the detail you are looking for directly into the “Description/Amount” box.

When searching the description, you do not need to match the description exactly for the search to work, however if you only enter part of the full description e.g. “pay” you may get a lot more transactions returned than you would like. The more specific you can be the better your chances of returning only the transactions you are looking for.

TIP: Try to be as specific as possible when searching by description.

Amount - To search for a specific amount, you can type the detail you are looking for directly into the “Description/Amount” box.

When searching by amount if you do not know the exact amount to the penny that doesn’t matter! The search will return all items containing the number you enter, so if you are looking for a specific transaction it is best to enter the value to 2 decimal places, even if those 2 decimal places are zero. The more specific you can be the better your chances of returning only the transactions you are looking for.

TIP: Try to be as specific as possible when searching by amount.

Explanation - To search for a specific explanation, you can type the detail you are looking for directly into the "Explanation" box.

An explanation is where you have posted/allocated an amount to. This can be a direct COA code or a customer account. This can be a great feature if you want to ensure the correct transactions have been posted to a specific customer and they do not use a standard reference.

Bank Details

The bank details section, shown below, gives you a quick summary of the imported balance and bank balance. However these will only show, if you click "Refresh" button.

Bank Balance - This figure tells you the balance amount in MDA for all the allocated transactions.

Imported Balance - This figure tells you the imported balance in MDA.

Knowing this, you can quickly see if everything has been allocated.
